- Maintains Human Resources Information System (HRIS) records and compiles reports from databases.
- Ensures timely response to requests from various agencies.
- Communicates with divisional offices and employees in a prompt and customer-focused manner.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Processes and coordinates pre-employment screenings, i.e., background, drug screens, and any other relevant pre-employment testing.
- Maintains basic knowledge concerning applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, EEO, ADA, ADEA, USERRA, etc.
- Supports payroll duties and serves as processing backup.
- Supports recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel.
- Creates, updates, and maintains job descriptions.
- Spearheads with relevant staff and management a progressive, multifaceted onboarding program.
- Conducts, assists, and/or advises the new hire orientation process.
- Monitors the performance evaluation process and ensures timely evaluations are conducted for all employees.
- Performs periodic audits of HR records and processes to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains and revises employee policies/handbook.
- Assists with the unemployment claims process, tracks, and participates in telephone hearings, if applicable.
- Assists with research and creation of salary administration information.
- Assists with payroll administration, benefits administration, talent management, and other related HR functions.
- Create and maintain a position manual.
- Assists with other departmental needs as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Office applications and Google Suite.
- Aptitude to learn other software programs as necessary.
- Constantly moves about to coordinate work
